A special competition staged by Bath law firm Mogers Drewett Solicitors for schoolchildren to design eye-catching bunting to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee attracted more than 400 entries.
The firm, which also has offices in Sherbourne and Wells, invited all primary school-aged children in the region to come up with original designs to mark this week’s celebrations.
Judges were delighted by the level of response and the quality of the entries – which made their task of picking just three winners harder.
The winning schools were each awarded £500, with the winning children receiving a £50 voucher of their choice.
The winners were:
- Lucia from Thornford Primary School, Sherborne, in the 4-5 years category,
- Roni from St John’s Catholic Primary School, Bath, in 6-8 years category,
- Eva from Oldfield Park Junior School, Bath, in the 9–11-year category.
Mogers Drewett marketing manager Louise Kelly said: “We want to say a huge thank you to all the schools that took part and congratulate all the children who created some really amazing artwork.
“Well done to our three winners Lucia, Roni and Eva, we can’t wait to see your winning bunting hanging up at school.”
The prizes were awarded to the schools by Mogers Drewett team members Elizabeth Dowler, Emma Coate and Gina Doswell.
Emma said: “It was so lovely to present the children with their voucher and to see their reaction when they saw their winning bunting design brought to life.”
Elizabeth added: “We are also pleased to be able to give the winning schools £500 each, at a time when fund raising is tough.”
Mogers Drewett employs nearly 100 people and provides a full range of legal services for businesses and individuals.
