Bath’s iconic Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa has launched a partnership with Tesla Motors, giving guests exclusive access to three charging points for sustainable electric cars.
The move, in line with Tesla’s mission to accelerate the world’s transition to clean energy, makes the five-star hotel the first in Bath to offer the recharging service.
Electric vehicle-owing guests can keep them powered-up at no extra cost during their stay. The equipment delivers a full charge overnight, ready for guests’ journey home the following day.
The chargers can be used by any Tesla model and any electric vehicle with a Type Two charge port. Tesla owners (arriving in their Tesla) and staying at the Royal Crescent for the first time can also enjoy a complimentary bottle of Taittinger Champagne.
The five-red-star Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa describes itself as a haven of elegance and tranquillity with 45 individually designed suites and bedrooms.
While an historic hotel, it boasts modern ethics and is committed to reducing its carbon footprint.
A spokesman said: “The installation of these charging points is the logical next step towards achieving this goal whilst meeting the needs of its environmentally-conscious guests.”
Meanwhile, the hotel – owned by Topland Group and operated by general manager Jonathan Stapleton, who has been at the property since October 2014 – has become a member of Pride of Britain Hotels.
The Royal Crescent’s inclusion in the collection of independent, often family-owned luxury properties across the UK takes the consortium to its 50-hotel limit.
Topland Group carried out a £5m renovation across the property soon after acquiring the business and in 2016 the hotel was awarded five AA Red Stars for its excellence.
Hotels in Pride of Britain range in size from 11 bedrooms to 130, and include Lucknam Park at Colerne, near Bath.
Each has its own distinctive style and character, and all are run by people with a passion for great hospitality, verging on obsession.
