Each week Bath Business News gives a prominent member of the city’s business community the last word. This week Grace Farrimond, founder of Young Blooms, answers our 10 questions.

What was the LAST:

Film you watched? The Mauritanian with Jodie Foster and Benedict Cumberbatch. It’s not for the faint-hearted but it’s extremely powerful.

Book you read? I’ve just turned the final page of The Well Gardened Mind: Rediscovering Nature in the Modern World by Sue Stuart-Smith. Such an inspiring and thought-provoking read.

Music you bought/downloaded? In my opinion, you just can’t beat a bit of Nina Simone or Stacey Kent. I also recently downloaded Adele’s new album, 30, and I’ve been loving that: She just gets better and better with age, as do we all.

Concert or play you went to see? I was lucky enough to see Stacey Kent at the Wiltshire Music Centre in Bradford-on-Avon. Her voice is incredible! I want to go and see her perform again in New York next year.

Sporting event you attended? Does Parkrun count? About four years ago, the ‘Couch to 5K’ challenge set me off on the running path and I now go out as much as I can. I’ve completed the Bath Half Marathon twice and I’ve set myself the target of tackling a full marathon in 2023.#

Holiday you went on? Holiday, you say? I can’t remember what they are! My husband Stu and I have been enjoying spending a couple of nights away in nice hotels here and there throughout the pandemic; a change of scenery combined with lovely food is what’s kept us both going. We’re heading to Thyme (hotel and spa) in Gloucestershire over the festive season and can’t wait.

Restaurant you ate in? I’m a very big fan of The Bunch of Grapes in Bradford-on-Avon. Their food is AMAZING!

Thing that annoyed you? You really don’t want to know … suffice to say, it was my own silly fault.

Thing that made you laugh out loud? A good friend recently sent me a link to a track by Fascinating Aida – their songs are pure gold but slightly risqué to say the least!

Piece of good advice you were given? Doubt kills more dreams than failure ever will.
