Each week Bath Business News lets a prominent member of the area’s business community have the last word on its weekly e-bulletin.

This week Kieran Thomas, managing director of Trowbridge-based Priority IT, answers our 10 questions.

What was the LAST:

Film you watched? I made my way through all the Star Wars films (in order of production) in preparation for The Force Awakens. The latest instalment moves the plot along reasonably well but lacked some of the magic of the original films.

Book you read? Intercept: The Secret History of Computers and Spies. It’s a really interesting read about the history of spies and computers from World War One up to the present day.  It gives a real insight into what the National Security Agency and GCHQ do and what they are capable of doing.

Music you bought or downloaded? The latest Coldplay album A Head Full of Dreams. I find Coldplay the perfect music to listen to when working late. It’s uplifting without distracting me from my work. I’m also a real fan of Elbow, One Day Like This is my alarm wake up tune.

Concert you went to? It’s been a while since I have been to a concert. However, I recently took my family to watch Mary Poppins at the Bristol Hippodrome. It was a magical show.

Sporting event you attended? The Formula 1 British Grand Prix at Silverstone. I go every year and we camp. So it’s 50% racing and 50% partying as it’s like a mini festival.

Holiday you went on? Tenerife with my family. We stayed in Puerto de la Cruz. It was a really nice place, with a great mix of tourists from around the world and locals. The food was excellent, particularly the baby squid and rabbit.

Restaurant you ate in? I stopped for a lunch at The Tollgate Inn in Holt. Lunch was really good with a great friendly atmosphere.

Thing that annoyed you? Bad customer service always annoys me, especially when a company overpromises and under delivers.

Thing that made you laugh out loud? My daughter is seven years old and keeps coming up with jokes. They are so bad they are funny.

Piece of good advice you were given? To treasure time with my two girls. It’s so easy to concentrate solely on the business. I try to keep at least one day free at the weekend for family time and make sure we build memories as a family.

Trowbridge-born Kieran Thomas founded Priority IT in 2010 to provide professional IT support to local businesses. He previously managed an IT support company servicing in-house clients across Wiltshire and Somerset. Kieran’s philosophy is to give local businesses all the benefits of an IT department without the associated costs or hassle. As well as spending quality time with his wife and two young daughters, he also enjoys cooking, motorsports, cycling and running.
