Each week Bath Business News gives a prominent member of the city’s business community the last word on our weekly e-bulletin.

This week Loraine Morgan-Brinkhurst MBE, director of Morgan-Brinkhurst Consultancy Events and a vice-president, trustee and patron for many charities, answers our 10 questions.

What was the LAST:

Film you watched?  Despicable Me with my grandchildren. I feel very proud to be a nanny to nine grandchildren and while I am very busy with the charities I support and my events business I do try to spend quality time with my family. The most recent grown-up film that I have watched was Twelve Years a Slave.

Book you read? Life Lines by my dear friend author, journalist and broadcaster Bel Mooney. A heartfelt and inspirational collection, full of valuable insights and prefixed by a wide-ranging and candid introduction reflecting on what being an advice columnist has taught her. A children’s book I have recently read to my grandchildren is Sadsville, written by BBC Homes Under The Hammer presenter Martin Roberts. As an ambassador for the NSPCC he has written this book to support the charity’s new schools programme. As an NSPCC ambassador myself I am helping Martin raise money to have the books printed, our aim is to give the book for free to all nine and 10-year-old children in the UK.

Music you bought or downloaded? The album Hey Ho by my lovely friend, jazz singer Clare Teal

Concert or play you went to? Tom Jones at Westonbirt recently. Great concert, terrible weather!

Sporting event you attended? Bath Races for the MJ Church-sponsored day on behalf of the RUH Forever Friends Appeal – a charity I feel privileged to be a vice-president of.

Holiday you went on? Lake Garda in Italy with my lovely friend Jennifer Skellett – a beautiful region but sadly bad weather! I think there is a theme of bad weather following me!

Restaurant you ate in? Thai Balcony in Bath. A wonderful lunch for my beautiful daughter Evette’s birthday

Thing that annoyed you?  People who do not say THANK YOU! I think this is one of the most important phrases any of us can say.

Thing that made you laugh out loud? My grandson Archie, who is learning to speak, trying to say ‘dinosaurs’. Instead he says ‘diggors’!

Piece of good advice you were given? Take every opportunity you can in life, as this life is not a dress rehearsal. This is the real thing!
