Each week Bath Business News gives a prominent member of the city’s business community the last word on our weekly e-bulletin.

This week Martin Roberts, presenter of Homes under the Hammer, answers our 10 questions.

What was the LAST:

Film you watched? Everest. I did a charity climb of Kilimanjaro a few years ago, so it brought back a few memories!

Book you read? Sadsville - a children’s book I have written for the NSPCC to go with its schools programme, which aims to give an assembly to every primary school in the UK. Local businesses are kindly sponsoring it. I read it to my six and eight year olds. Visit www.thevilles.com for details

Music you bought or downloaded? I’ve spent hours tracking down all the songs from my youth and assembling them in a Spotify folder. It’s amazing. They are all there, including Jungle Rock by Hank Mizell and Stool Pigeon by Kid Creole and The Coconuts.

Concert or play you went to? The panto at the Bristol Hippodrome. It’s a brilliant provincial theatre that gets all the top London shows, and my kids love the pantomime (oh yes they do!)

Sporting event you attended? The rugby world cup final at Twickenham. What a privilege to be able to be there on such a special occasion!

Holiday you went on? We love caravan holidays down in Dorset in Wareham Forest. We were there for three weeks in the summer and it’s brilliant for families. That said, we are just off skiing in the Alps with some friends, and that’s a fantastic family holiday too.

Restaurant you ate in? Menu Gordon Jones, on Bear Flats in Bath. A truly outstanding, world-class, mouth-wateringly brilliant place that we are so lucky to have on our doorstep.

Thing that annoyed you? People who leave doggy poo bags on public footpaths or even hanging in trees through the woods, expecting magic fairies or people like me to pick them up!

Thing that made you laugh out loud? A Michael Macintyre On Tour DVD. He was talking about giving kids Calpol with the supplied syringe. As ever, it’s the way it’s presented. Brilliant.

Piece of good advice you were given? “Do it now!” When I started my career, working in hospital radio, a man on the cancer ward gave me this sobering and simple bit of advice. Don’t procrastinate. Do it now. You never know what’s round the corner.
