The annual event, which combines racing with music, this year takes place on June 3. It regularly attracts thousands of keen racegoers and music lovers – and the course’s recently opened new catering and hospitality facilities are expected to be an added attraction is time.
Jo Whiley, well known as the face of the BBC’s Glastonbury Festival coverage, will be performing a 90-minute set at the end of the evening’s racing.
The event is sponsored by Bath Ales, which will be exhibiting more than 20 real ales in its beer tent.
Bath Racecourse executive director Jo Hall said: “We love the Live On Lansdown evening. It always has a great buzz about it, particularly as it is a Friday night, so for most people it’s an ideal way to wind down after a busy working week.
“Having Jo Whiley perform here is fantastic for us and is part of our bigger plan to attract high-quality entertainment to complement the racing.
“We now have an improved offer in terms of the catering and the new stand facilities, it seems only fitting to make sure we reflect this in everything we do at the racecourse. I am sure Jo is going to be a massive attraction and we are anticipating big crowds on the night.”
Jo Whiley said: “I always love DJ’ing at racecourses as the crowd are always in a great mood after a day’s superb racing. The atmosphere is always amazing and Bath is such a vibrant place that June 3 is going to be a BIG party!”
Bath Ales sales director Mark Harding added: “We are proud to sponsor the new look Bath Racecourse again this year and we are delighted to be part of the Live On Lansdown race day.
“Alongside our own ales brewed so close to the racecourse, we have sourced a range of different real ales for race goers to try. We like to think that it’s a great way to celebrate a win!”
