The House, the Bath-based specialist brand consultancy, has become the first business in the city to be awarded B Corp status – a measure of an organisation’s commitment to meeting rigorous standards of social and environmental performance.
B Corps are for-profit companies that are committed to business models that deliver positive impact. B Corp status is regarded as being to business what Fairtrade is to bananas or coffee.
The House works with leaders of organisations to transform them into businesses with purpose. It helps companies build purpose-led vision and business strategy, values-led culture and creative communication.
It joins a growing number of West of England businesses in gaining B Corps status, including Pukka Herbs, Triodos Bank and Neighbourly, the social platform that connects companies that want to make a difference with community projects. UK brands in the network include Ella’s Kitchen, JoJo Maman Bebe and Divine Chocolate.
The House co-founder Steve Fuller said: “As a consultancy that specialises in purpose and culture, becoming an accredited B Corp will boost our efforts to help inspired business leaders to ‘do well by doing good’.
“It places us at the heart of a worldwide community of over 2,000 like-minded, impactful businesses who are working together to make business a force for good.”
B Corp community manager Kate Sandle added: “We are delighted to welcome The House to the UK B Corp Community. The B Corp movement is a global community of businesses who are using the power of business to solve social and environmental problems.
“We admire The House's long standing commitment to working with aligned businesses – ensuring that business is a force for good."
