Bath-based health food wholesaler Supernutrients has leapt into a widely-respected league table of the country’s fastest-growing private businesses.
The family-owned firm, formed in 2006 and based at South Stoke, is one of Europe’s largest importers and wholesalers of superfoods such as Goji berries, coconut oil and wheatgrass.
Its 89% average annual sales growth over the past three years has propelled it into the 18th annual Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 league table at number 29.
The table ranks Britain’s private companies with the fastest-growing sales over three years. Supernutrients, which employs 29 people, has an annual turnover of £7.1m.
Also appearing in the table for the first time is Warminster-based payroll services provider RACS, which boasts an average annual turnover for the past three years of 78%.
The firm employs 71 staff and turns over £68m.
Supernutrients said its growth had mostly as a result of ‘word of mouth’ recommendation within the health food industry.
The company said: “We source our products from proven, professional and appropriately regulated suppliers from around the world. We aim to remain at the forefront of the growing popularity in superfoods and are constantly adding new and exciting products to our range.

The top-ranked South West company, going straight in at number 10, is Bristol-based energy supplier Ovo Energy, one of six new entrants from the region.
