Bath Racecourse, which last year completed a multi-million pound redevelopment, is to host a summer wedding fayre in July to showcase its new luxury facilities.
The free event, on Sunday July 9, is being organised by Love Actually Weddings and will give visitors a chance to see the much-changed venue as well as meet wedding suppliers.
The racecourse is licensed for civil ceremonies and its redeveloped facilities have been designed to cater for couples seeking a beautiful wedding venue location with a unique, stunning backdrop.
Its Royal Crescent suite can hold up to 150 guests and has a private balcony, while the covered Roof Garden on the level above, pictured, provides an alfresco area for guests to enjoy a glass of champagne on a balmy summer’s evening.
Overlooking acres of open countryside, the racecourse is promoting the garden as an ideal spot for reception drinks and canapes before the wedding breakfast.
David Thomas of Love Actually Weddings, which is based at Stanton Drew, near Chew Magna, said: “Bath Racecourse is a stunning place to get married. The Royal Crescent is simply superb and the Roof Garden is something else.
“We are sure this location will become a firm favourite for engaged couples across the region as it’s got everything they need, all in one place – great facilities, top quality catering, as well as beautiful views and backdrops to make the wedding pictures really special. Overall, it’s a wonderful place to celebrate.”
The fayre will have a wide selection of professional wedding suppliers for visitors to pick up inspirational ideas. Staff from the Bath Racecourse will be on hand to discuss the packages on offer.
All visitors to the event, which runs from 11am to 3pm, will receive a free gift bag and glass of Buck’s Fizz on arrival.
Last year’s redevelopment of the Bath Racecourse, owned by the UK’s largest racecourse operator Arena Racing Company (ARC), included a new three-storey grandstand and a hospitality stand.
The redevelopment aims to substantially increase the course’s income from corporate gatherings, weddings and other events on non-racedays while also boosting attendances at its racing fixtures, which have this year increased from 22 to 23 with the addition of a Good Friday meeting.
