Law firm Thrings, which has an office in Bath, has appointed Jo Campbell as its new head of business development in a move it said demonstrated its commitment to growth.
Jo, pictured, who will lead Thrings’ extensive business development programme, is an established leader in creating growth and commercial development opportunities.
Jo began her 30-year legal career as a receptionist in a two-partner firm, before going on to become a paralegal while training as a legal executive.
She then worked in the personal injury team of Augustine’s Injury Law, part of Bristol-headquartered firm VWV (then Veale Wasbrough).
She spent a total of 28 years at VWV, becoming a partner and business development manager in VWV Approach, which supports small to mid-sized law practices through its free network.
Jo has also been a Bristol Law Society council member for many years, playing an active part in promoting the interests and concerns of the legal profession.
At Thrings she will utilise her award-winning legal experience collaborating with teams across the firm to expand its external presence and drive overall growth.
Alongside day-to-day interaction with clients, referrers and contacts to develop opportunities for Thrings’ lawyers, her job will also include devising and implementing an innovative new programme for client listening and managing key client accounts.
Jo said: “It is an exciting time to be joining Thrings, a firm that time and time again has demonstrated its commitment not just to its own growth, but to that of its clients, working tirelessly to ensure their success.
“In joining the team, I am looking forward to helping build on that existing reputation and the excellent work that has been done to develop and showcase its outstanding legal ability, bringing people together from all teams and sectors for the benefit of all involved.”
Thrings managing partner Simon Holdsworth added: “Our client experience is a key way in which Thrings seeks to provide a consistently better service to those we act for and by enhancing our business development, client listening and collaborative approach, we will do just that.
“Jo requires no introduction in the South West legal sector, having built her career on forging lasting and meaningful business relationships and we are delighted she has joined us at Thrings.
“Her experience and ability will prove invaluable in our continued mission for sustainable growth.”
Thrings employs around 350 people in its seven offices across the South West and South with a focus on enabling growth and success for its clients, contacts and staff.
