Denise O’Leary, founder of Chippenham-based consultancy Purpol Marketing, has been named as a finalist in the prestigious national Women in Construction Awards.
The awards, which take place on March 23, provide a showcase for the brightest and the best female achievers in the construction and built environment industries.
Denise, pictured, who founded Purpol Marketing in 2014 to provide marketing strategy and bid management expertise to the construction and manufacturing industries, is one of six contenders in the Business Leader of the Year category.
Purpol Marketing provides a unique service working with SMEs as well as larger organisations to develop bid strategies for major construction projects.
It has helped clients win substantial contracts including with Bristol Airport and gain placements on the £850m South West Wales Regional Contractors Framework and Wessex Water’s framework of approved contractors.
Denise also led the first consortium of construction SMEs to gain places on a regional framework and encourages companies to work in a collaborative way to deliver contracts that they would not be able to undertake on their own.
She said: “I am thrilled to be recognised for this national accolade as a business leader within the construction sector. Purpol is able to deliver credible results for our clients on a pay-as-you-go basis. We measure by how much our clients win.”
The awards celebrate their 10th anniversary this year by returning to Manchester’s showpiece Palace Hotel.
Other categories include Architect of the Year, Best Apprentice, Engineer of the Year, Mentor of the Year, Outstanding Woman in Construction, Green Leadership, Project Manager of the Year, Tradeswoman of the Year and Rising Star Award.
