Construction of the first buildings on the £50m Hawke Ridge Business Park between Trowbridge and Westbury - which will eventually become one of the region’s largest developments of its kind – will begin next year, its owner has said.
Detailed planning consent for the four units, which will vary in size from 7,500sq ft to 36,000 sq ft and have a total area of 67,500 sq ft, was recently received by developers Bath-based HPH.
HPH has already invested more than £2m in the site. The ground works, which were completed in September, included a new roundabout off the A350, access roads and signage. The company has also paid for landscaping and new bus stops.
When fully developed, the 35-acre scheme will have 500,000 sq ft of commercial space and could support around 1,000 jobs.
HPH says the four units will meet growing local demand for business space at a time of dwindling supply.
HPH development director Chris Wordsworth said: “We have been very busy behind the scenes in recent months with many conversations taking place with prospective occupiers.
“With its strategic location, ultra-fast broadband, and modern and efficient buildings, Hawke Ridge Business Park is a very desirable prospect for a company looking to improve and future-proof its operations.
“This planning consent from Wiltshire Council puts Hawke Ridge Business Park in an even stronger position for attracting high-quality employers, offering an immediate solution to their business needs.”
He said Hawke Ridge also offered build-to-suit opportunities for potential occupiers with scope for businesses looking for flexible premises.
