Simon Walshe, a chartered financial planner in the Bath office of national independent financial advisers Chase de Vere, has been named as the Young Retirement Planner of the Year for the South West and Wales.
Simon collected the accolade at the Retirement Planner Awards 2017 at a ceremony at the Jumeirah Carlton Tower Hotel in London.
Simon, pictured with the award, beat competition from Hargreaves Lansdown, Old Mutual and Sanlam Wealth to win the prestigious title.
Simon, 30, joined Chase de Vere in 2009 after achieving a first-class degree in business administration from the University of Bath. He progressed to become a qualified independent financial adviser in 2012.
He achieved Chartered Financial Planner status through the Chartered Insurance Institute and then attained Fellowship status, its highest accolade.
He is now one of the best qualified advisers in the country and provides independent financial advice to professionals such as doctors and other medical practitioners.
Chase de Vere chief executive Stephen Kavanagh said: “Simon thoroughly deserves this accolade. He is part of a new breed of younger financial advisers who are focused on achieving professional qualifications and providing exceptional levels of advice and service to their clients.
“We are proud of the part which Chase de Vere has played in Simon’s development and we will continue to support young advisers who wish to progress their careers.
“However, most of the credit must go to Simon himself who, even at a relatively young age, is already one of the best independent financial advisers in the UK.”
Chase de Vere, which provides independent financial advice and planning services for private individuals and businesses, has 13 offices across the UK.
